The Broken Compass is a forthcoming nonfiction work by Giovanni Colonnelli, published in The Quiet Orchard’s Singularity collection.
The book explores the disorientation of the contemporary world: a time in which technology accelerates, artificial intelligence reshapes work and knowledge, and many of the intellectual tools inherited from the past no longer seem sufficient.
Rather than offering easy answers, the book investigates the loss of direction itself. What happens when societies continue to move faster, but no longer share a reliable compass? What happens when technical power grows more rapidly than cultural understanding?
The Broken Compass is conceived as a lucid inquiry into science, technology, human judgment and the fragile maps we use to navigate the future.
